Forgotten password in Fedora core 3 Linux?

I recently forgot the password to enter my account in Fedora core 3 linux, how can I get in with no trouble, fast, and easily change my pass? I have physical access to the machine!

  1. Hmm let say you have login called test and you have forgot the password of root login as well as your login then boot in single user mode.

if you are using redhat and also grub loader then press " e" when the boot prompt comes up and then search for the kernel line and then again e and append 1 after that line then press "b" it will take you to single user mode and
#bash prompt will come up. there you need to fire command

passwd test and enter it will ask you to reset and sfter giving password #bash prompt returns from there fire "init 3" and then login with you rnew password . Incase can nto resolve this you can send mail to kshounish@yahoo.com.

  2. You wouldn't happen to have root access would you. If thats the case then it is very easy to change your user pass. Other then that the only thing I can think of is to reinstall linux. Don't actually install it but just do an update that should allow you to change pass to root and redo the user account.
