How to install linux suse without formating my ntfs drives "I have fedora & I want to remove it"?
- If you have only one NTFS partition, you can resize it with ntfsresize; the binary only works in Linux, but you can boot the SuSE disk and, when it prompts, choose the Rescue mode. You can then chop the end of the partition.
Since you want to install onto the existing Fedora partition, when the installer shows the installation summary, click on the Advanced tab and then click on the partition. You can choose your own scheme, the default appears to repartition everything. Just select the existing partition and mount it as root (/)
- ok do this it very simple to install SUSE on top of Fedora. You simple boot with suse disk in and make a new install on top of Fedora drive that exists. by making sure you remove only linux partition when ask upon boot of the suse disk or in windows xp go to drive management under admin tool and manually remove the Fedora linux boot partition and it's file partition then boot suse linux install disk then install.
Only 2 ways.
- Don't Install. Get a copy of Ubuntu on CD and boot from it. Then use Linux without problem, and you still have your original PC configuration.
- for suse u need single drive b4 installation
tht is if u hav c: , d: , e:
use partition magic or watever u preffer to combine all drives
thn put d bootable suse disk
n go ahead!
