How to learn to use linux in a easy way specially suse and ubuntu and fedora please help me?
is that I dont understand how to install programs and use it I know too much in windows but I want to learn linux and I trying to learn programing too and I only 14 years old
- One huge advantage Linux has over other operating systems is the ability to run it from a CD (Live CD). I would suggest downloading the "Live" version of the distro of your choice and experiment. For the most part you can run it from any computer with out the risk and complexity of a full install. Great for toying with the OS.
The GUI is good, but I would definitely jump in to the command line stuff.
P.S. Try setting up a small server if you have a spare computer laying around (you don't need anything fancy). Example: Mail server, vpn server, telnet server, ssh server, web server, etc.
Here is a good link to get you started:http://distrowatch.com/
and don't forget Google! Good luck!
- I agree with the previous answer. Start with command line. Learn what grep does, learn the different ways you can ls, learn to pipe, learn how to change the security levels on a file. Learn to shell program. Your favorite search engine is your friend here, and learn what the 'man' command is - in fact learn this one early and use it often (nothing to do with gender - short for manual). Also, learn to use vi (probably gvim form) or xemacs. Using a search engine you should be able to find tutorials to get a good start.
