I was installed windows xp on my pc ,then I install Linux Fedora core 5…and now I want to remove linux …?
how can I do that ? You know that linux get Master Boot Record in his hands!
- how can I have only windows Xp without installing it again?
- well, I dont know much about the program, but go to:
My Computer->
C: [its a disk]
Program files->
Then look for Linux, or another name you used when you installed Linux, highlight, and delete
of course, im not sure what powers Linux has on the computer, but this works whenever you install or delete a program
- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058/…
- Format that drive where you install Lunix..
Then its going to go…
- Linux is an OS, if I remember right, Fedora might be a browser, but I think it's part of the OS, I'm not positive, but I think you'll have to format your hard drive and choose between the two.
- You will need to delete all partitions associated with linux. This may include swap and /home partitions. After deleting the partitions you can reclaim the free space with Windows disk management tools. Next you will need to insert the Windows CD and boot to Windows recovery console and use fixmbr. This will rewrite the master boot record, getting rid of whatever bootloader is currently installed (usually lilo or grub). See link below for information on using recovery console.
