Which linux is better ? red hat ? fedora ? or …?
- I have used red hat before, and liked it… didn't have a problem with it.
I have heard that "suse" is the best one.
btw, linux is a great program… they actually have fun while designing the program… while setting up one version (don't remember which) on the internet settings, it asked which firewall to use… the settings were "none", "light", "moderate", "high", and "paranoid"… that was great for a laugh when I saw it… it was great
p.s. I am not sure that this was the exact progression, but I do know that it said "paranoid"… hilarious
- Better depends on what you want out of it. Some are better for newbies, others are designed more for the power user, etc. One of the most popular lately has be Ubuntu, especially for people who are switching from Windows.
Most can be downloaded for free, try several and see what you like. There are several sites like distrowatch that give you some information about your choices.
Another standard piece of advice is if you have a friend who uses a particular one, go for that one first, so you can ask them questions.
- red hat, fedora both charge for their product.
most linux nowadays is built on the same kernel, that is red hat.there are free builds of linux, such as centos.
it's not what's better, it's what offers the features you want.
don't ask me about features because I am not going to give you a side by side comparison for over 5000 features.
