Best free Linux Operating System for general user newbie?
I'm a newbie to linux and like to switch to the most suitable free Linux Operating System for general user? What I'm looking for:
- 1) ease of use - need not be for geeks - roughly the level of an average Windows XP home user;
- 4) ability to run/support multilingual programs (I'm learning a foreign language)
- http://ubuntu.com
http://innogaming.net - I would also say ubuntu.
VERY easy to use. I have been using it exclusively for 6 months now.
- I like ubuntu. It's all of those things.
http://ubuntu.com - 2) boot-up disc under 1 Cd-rom and easy to set-up
- Check out Ubuntu. It supposed to be the best for you.
- 5) doesn't hog too much system resource
- I've been recommended to some distributions like Debian but it appears there are many subdistributions under it. Is Simplymepris any good? Would be most appreciative if one can come up with some alternative suggestions.
- 3) must be totally free! (very impt!)
- Are there many subdistributions under under Ubuntu? Could one be more specific?
