also my mouse does not work under ubuntu

1. go to LINUXQUESTIONS.ORG DEFENITLY you will find a soloution for your problem
2. I don't know if you have DSL, dial-up or what for your internet problem. I don't know what kind of mouse you have. Try the ubuntu user forums. They have always helped me quickly. Search first for your question. More than likely, it has been answered before but if not, don't feel afraid to ask.
3. Did you run Ubuntu as a live CD first? If yes, you would have had the same problems with the web and your mouse if Ubuntu isn't compatible with your hardware.

   You should NOT have installed it to your hard drive.

   Try another Distro like Freespire, Kubuntu, Suse or Xandros.
