I want to build my own Linux distribution, but I don't wont it to effect or change my windows computer I want to mack it on.

1. because I will sick on some old Pentium 2 when I'm finished.
2. Download a copy of vmware server from http://www.vmware.com and load linux in a virtual environment on your windows computer. It is easier and safer that trying to create a dual boot system if you have never done such a thing before.

5. The best thing to do is download Knoppix (Live CD http://knoppix.net/get.php ) you can play wiht Linux without touching your windows operating system.

   Should you decide to install it, there's an option to install it to the hard disk
