If my operating system is linux, can I change my operating system in windows?

I want to buy a laptop but the operating system is linux.

  1. Slip the person your buying it from a 20 dollar bill to put Windows on there. They will probably go against their Penguin nature for little extra cash, especially if that person is a student. If one is such a zealot that they won't, tell them you keep Linux if they give you free tech support. A yes answer would be good if you know that person or they live close. If he or she says yes and they are a perfect stranger, then say, "ya, right" and insist on them digging through there desk and find you the restore disks.
Or you can just call the Manufacture and order new restore disks, about $20 with shipping.
  2. Yes you can either remove the linux install or run a dual boot system and have both Linux and Windows. If you run a dual boot system you wil be asked to select which OS to use when you turn the computer on.
My advice is pay the extra and get the full retail Windows instead of the OEM version.
When you are ready to buy windows pose that question and you will receive many suggestion where to buy Windows.
    Good luck
  3. You have it easy, you can have it both ways.

Run Mac, then when you need it, start up the program (Parallels?) that allows Windows programs to run.

You are soooo far better off this way unless your world is totally gaming.
