# Ubuntu

- # MEPIS
- # Aurox
- # KateOS
- Well I dont know if I would recommend going with x86_64 Build of any Linux distro at this point, I am running Fedora 64bit and I am about to switch back to 32 at least for awhile now.
I would go with Fedora it probably the easiest and comes with the most complete install cd, you can stick with Ubuntu I hear a lot of good things about them. Also its worth noting if you dont mind getting dirty Gentoo is a very nice distro.

- # Slackware
- # Arch
- whcih is the best and most user friendly, im not very smart when it comes to typing code and stuff, but I can handle some stuff basic stuff, which one should I go with, I dont like windows and I dont have a mac so I dont want those but I have tried ubuntu and I like it but for some strange reason it always freezes my cpu and I have plenty of memory my computer has an amd64×2 proccessor I dont know if that makes a difference
- # Gentoo
- You need to go to Distrowatch.com and research a distro that will work with your processor. The above mentioned distros usually assume that you are still using a 32 bit processor when in fact you are using a 64 bit processor. I think Ubuntu may have a 64 bit version but you have download it and burn it to a DVD to install it or you can order an install disc from the Ubuntu website. (If you wish to use the OS for free)
Also take a look at linuxquestions.org
This is a web forum for linux users, they are very helpful.
