How to get Linux support?

Hi, system Techies,

  1. I m a linux beginner, Just now I have completed RHCE course, even I feel tough to identify packages & utilities in linux platform. I would like to be a linux player,How to gather tips, utilities& commands for workstations & server configurations. I need real time experience in linux to complete my RHCE exam.
  2. Usualy you can find on your web browser the site that is the home of your Linux OS .Then you can find a link to forums which you can join which gives you access to possibly thousands of Linux users who are experienced in any problem you can imagine .I also am new to Linux .I have been playing with Kubuntu ( Ubuntu with a different skin) I have found it to be alot easier to use than most Linux systems .Also I was able to find a Book called The Ubuntu Linux Bible that is very comprehensive as well as a huge information source . Don't give up.Just keep trying to learn .
  3. Get an old computer and install Linux on it. Use the remote desktop option, or install one yourself, and setup SSH or Telnet access as well. You can then access the box on your home network from your Windows machine. If you need help finding an old PC, ask friends or visit Craig's List for your area. Nothing fancy, maybe a PII processor and 256mb RAM for basic install.

SSH/Telnet is the primary way I access my box, as it's a dedicated web server. I install RPM's and tarball's from command line, and most places you work for will probably want you to know some command line stuff anyhow. Additionally command line input is faster and doesn't cause a bog on system resources that a GUI can in a production environment.

Linux distros are free and can be found all over the net. For RHCE I would probably get RHEL from their FTP site, or get CentOS (I use RHEL4ES, but heard CentOS is just as close).
