Gateway E1400-400 novell problem?

lil bro got a old computer from his old high school last year, everything works except the Ethernet card. did a 98 se reload and it asked for a Novell netware dos driver disk, I don;t have this so I got on my comp and went into gateway.com and found the download, unzipped it to a floppy and transfered it to the other computer, was supposed to unzip to c:\driver\75100289 the file didn't exist, so I made it, still doesn't work. when I boot the machine, it says that the lsl.com file is missing, can;t find a download online, what do I need to do from here?

  1. C:\driver\7510029 not 289
  2. "Novell Netware DOS driver disk" ?

Man, that takes me back to the 80's. I know Novell at one point made their own version of DOS, as did IBM, but that's going way back. After re-reading your question, his PC probably has a Novell client on it, b/c at one point it was connecting to a Novell Netware network. I'd remove the client, unless you need to connect to a Netware network. Then you won't need the LSL file, or any other associated Netware files.
