Is there any use in getting pass in certification courses conducted by (Ex: Oracle ,Linux.Novell……)?

various companies like oracle,Novell,Linux…offer certification courses..will it be of any use to our career? Will it offer any significance to our placements in companies? Is there any use in studying them?

  1. Speaking as a Microsoft Certified Trainer the answer is … it depends on the certification.

The MCSE is pretty much an entry level qualification for network admin and so would be very useful.

On the other hand database and development certificates (such as MCDBA, MCAD) are considerably less important than experience, and this is fairly true for Linux as well.

Novell certification? A good add on to a Microsoft cert but limited on its own
