On a Microsoft Windows 98 system, what is the file rcsnw.bat used for?

While attempting to remove the Novell log in client on a PC, I located a file in the recycle bin that I do not know where it came from, nor does the person that worked on the PC before I did. I was wondering if anybody knew where rcsnw.bat goes, and/or what it does? Honest answers are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

  1. Open the file in notepad and post the contents as added information to your question. Then people can tell you.
  2. I could not find any reference to it anywhere, it is not a win98 file, more than likely some dos program no longer there. If no program is looking for it, I would not worry about it, hope this helps
  3. A .BAT file is a batch of command prompt (DOS) commands. Most Windows processes and components don't use .BAT files.

I would just restore it to any directory, and open it with NOTEPAD. It's a text file and will be readable, and should give you a clue as to what it does.
