- Novell is one of the larger professional Linux companies. They are supported by the Linux community because they help to spread the Linux operating system while simultaneously they are loathed by the Linux community for making their main Distribution not available for free and for trying to make a certain deal with Microsoft that could have, in theory destroyed Open Source.
