What type of information technology job should I look for?

hi,

  1. I'm moving to edmonton, alberta in a few weeks and will be looking for a job in the it field. I have a 2 yr diploma in networking, my network+ certification, cisco certified networking associate cert, certified novell administraot, and an electronic engineering certificate. I also have 1-2 yrs in desktop support so what I'm wondering is should I apply for entry level positions or shoot for something more intermediate level? also if anyone has any sites they'd be able to point me toward for IT jobs in alberta it would be great. thanks,
  2. Sean,
I am 24 years old with similar credentials, I live in Texas but this stuff is usually the same no matter where you go. I have looked and looked and looked for permanent positions, and employer just dont want to offer them here. I have found there is an abundance of work in the outsourced field IT worker industry. I now only accept calls from recruiters from out of town. They are to the point and they wont waste your time. .thats just my .02
  3. Just out of school I would go for a Network support position with Cisco.. Having a Novell Cert. is great, and there are plenty of good jobs out there. check out any of the job boards.. careerbuilder, monster etc.
  4. Go for entry level networking or intermidiate level tech support
