   the answer is, they are both very good.
   they are two of the oldest Linux distributions still out there.

   also, remember that you are learning Linux, not redhat or suse.
   underneath it all, Linux is still Linux.
   sure distros like slack and debian are a little different, but they are more the same than they are different.
