Well linux ,in the beginning,started out low,but right now its gaining alot of popularity at a really fast rate-its awesome,simple to use and its free and its improving at a really fast rate!!!!!!Now people have come to realize how simple it is and its getting implemented in offices and alot of people are using it!!..So at the rate at which linux is getting popular,its becoming strict competition for Microsoft(which is currently the best providers for OS)..so well am sure bill is pretty worried about it and so they are trying to merge with it..I guess!!!!!!!

   and Windows is slowly loosing its popularity…Vista is selling really hot but its still not that popular cause of its Mac look like interfaces…

4. Maybe they are trying to figure out how to corrupt linux before it takes over the majority of Operating System usage. The one thing linux seems to lack is leaving a bunch of holes in the securty of their software like microsoft does.
