Free Linux Server for java programing?

    get tomcat to run your java. There are tons of free ones out there you will just have to search.

  2. You want a free linux server for a commercial programming language. That sure is asking a lot. Good luck with that. If I were you I would install linux on a computer at home. For that matter do you really need linux for java programming? Why not go Solaris and use the Sun java developer tools?
  3. What kind of server? Assuming you mean application servers, there are plenty of free servers out there. For straight web applications, Apache's Tomcat server is easy to use. For J2EE there's JBoss, Apache's Geronimo, and Sun's application server, all of which are free.
