4. There is a book named "Unix Shell Programming". Go through that book and you will all basics regarding shell programming and also get some good first hand projects to try on.
5. thats a very broad question since unix is such a huge topic….further more it has several shells all of which have different programming syntaxes …so it would be good if you could let us know what shell you are using so that people can help you with more specific information
