Linux/ Window's help….?
I am currently dual booting with a goal of solely using linux. I am planning on downloading a partition managing program through linux, and then just deleting the windows portion of my hard drive. Do you think this is the best method? Thanks a lot
- Thanks for your help so far- I'll look for a Linux boot system first before I go tearin' up my Windows.
- 10 Yrs - 50 Linux installations - 1 case of Data Loss - Nuff said
- I have tried out what you are planning , It works
Pitfalls :-
Make sure your system is not setup to boot from the windows partition , preferably keep a seperate partition mounted on /boot (about 100 mb should be enough ) and use a Linux boot loader to boot into Windows & Not vice versa or you may end up not being able to boot into Linux when you remove your windows partition. It would be a good idea to keep a windows setup around — You might get some files / documents which will best render in Windows (excel files with macros are an example)
