What is Linux? Program for Mac or something?

1. Linux is an operating system similar to UNIX. It is not MAC or Windows. Many web servers on the net run Linux/Unix as the OS. They are stable and efficient. Not really user friendly. More command-line typing than pointing and clicking with a mouse.
2. Actually both the Mac OS and Linux OS derive from UNIX. There are several differences between the two and they will not run the same applications

   Some versions of Linux are compatable with a piece of software called WINE, With WINE it can run most Windows Applications(.exe)
