Perl or Python? What are the Strengths and weaknesses of both?

1. This question has been the center of many discussions throughout the years and really the result is the same… they are two different languages that do two different things but with equal "power" so it makes the debate a bit meaningless.

   I have seen great things about both languages and each side has their own advocates about which is better. I am sure you will even find a few of them after this answer is posted.

   I have posted a few links below that talks about the differences and why the debate is pretty much a tie. So my word of advice is to pick one and enjoy. I find once you learn one, it is easier to learn other scripting languages.
