I want to access my redhat with windows when I am away from work through even the internet if possible or simply LAN.

1. Yes, you can. You can use a remote desktop, if you have an XWindows, or more simply, SSH. SSH allows you to controll the command line via another computer.

   It's been a year since I used it last, so would have to check on ports and whatnot. Basicly, setup an OpenSSH server on your redhat box, and a client from your laptop, office computer, whatever. Make sure, if the RedHat system is behind a router/firewall, all the proper ports are forwarded/opened, otherwise you'll be blocked from accessing it.

2. If you're trying to access your Linux box at work from home over the Net, you'll need a VPN connection. It'll be setup by your work network admin. Once that's done, all you need to do is telnet through SSH on the VPN connection.
3. dont install over windows xp just run suse linux from the dvd( cd)
