How can I change my Linux RedHat root password?

I need the commands please

  1. been a long long long time since I played with that old dinosaur redhat but if your gonna change the password you need to log in as the admin or root and then go into root and find it you dont have to do it threw terminal….. and another thing go get FC4 its the latest up to date redhat
  2. passwd, be sure you are logged in as root when you do it.
  3. Just give the Command #passwd it will ask u to change the passwd.Or if u need to change the passwd for a particular user give the command #passwd charles
& enter it prompt u for the new passwd.
  4. it's very simple. If you haven't set a password in lilo you can
boot linux in single usermode by typing linux -s (or the label you chose followed by -s) at the lilo: prompt. If that failes you can type "linux init=/bin/bash rw" to get a bash prompt. Then just run passwd and change your password. Don't forget to run sync 3 times and then umount -a followed by reboot.
