How to Upgrade RH Linux AS3 to AS4?

I want to upgrade my Red Hat Linux OS Version AS 3 Update 6 to RH Linux AS 4 Update 2. Does anybody have documentation about this process?

Red Hat has a pdf that covers it in depth (see sources, below).

They strongly recommend backing everything up and doing a fresh install over the old one, but if you can't do that for any reason they provide instructions on other (unsupported) upgrade methods as well.
