I have a pc with sata hard drive. I want to instal redhat linux(or any other linux) but how to do it?

  1. press del key on the starting of the computer & change 1st reboot device option to cd/dvd-drive,save&exit.put linex cd's(4 cds) in cd drive.
  2. better partation it into two or more . then use one partation for linux .
use a boot disk then install it in any of the partation ( redhat , suse
gnu , ubundu ) and wndows in other partation . or you can try any one of those linux that fits on top of your windows partation . like dragon linux .
  3. personally unless for some business app? I would use mephis 6 its free at the site below… and alot more user friendly for newbies to use ENjoy~
oh and btw you cna get mephis to do a dual boot format on your hdd its automatic and really simple read the data there~ cheers
  4. first you should have more than one partition in hard disc.
A linux operating system runs on non dos platform. So I prefer you that to format and partionate your sata hard disc in non dos format and then boot form the cd of os you want then install your desired operating system.

If you are not a axpert my advice is to use os… LINUX xp. this is a os of microsoft and runs on dos partition and easy to use
