I think to install linux on my pc which edition is best redhat 9 or mandrake 10.1?

  1. redhat 9 is very old hat. it has now been superseded by fedora core 5 (soon to be 6) and this is the version of linux which I use. It is very easy to install and very stable.
  2. Yea.. Redhat 9 is somewhat old…. I would go with Mandrake (Mandiva) or SuSe Linux 10. Suse 10 has a great control panel.. and is fairly easy to install.
  3. go for red hat enterprise Linux 4.

Fedora 5 is the latest one.

you can get the cd if you purchase the book red hat Linux bible by Christopher negus.

  4. Both of those are old now. You will most likely be better off with a more current version.

Of the two, I think Mandrake (who changed their name to Mandriva) is a little more user friendly.
