I think to install linux on my pc which edition is best redhat 9 or mandrake 10.1?
- redhat 9 is very old hat. it has now been superseded by fedora core 5 (soon to be 6) and this is the version of linux which I use. It is very easy to install and very stable.
- Yea.. Redhat 9 is somewhat old…. I would go with Mandrake (Mandiva) or SuSe Linux 10. Suse 10 has a great control panel.. and is fairly easy to install.
- go for red hat enterprise Linux 4.
Fedora 5 is the latest one.
you can get the cd if you purchase the book red hat Linux bible by Christopher negus.
- Both of those are old now. You will most likely be better off with a more current version.
Of the two, I think Mandrake (who changed their name to Mandriva) is a little more user friendly.
