Red Hat linux Problem?

I bought a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 server today…..from Dell (software is pre-installed).. I am trying to boot for the first time……..

  1. There is something like Enabling swap space ……ok (when booting).
  2. refer this link very helpful for u

  3. Prepare yourself on dealing with people with strong Indian accent which might attempt to put you into believe that best solution is format.

I would start from extensive hardware testing. If its hardware problem, doing anything else is waste of time.

If you find hardware problem on brand new (not refurbish) PC, download Intel softwares which reveals serial numbers and compare it with numbers on parts. Had personal experience with DELL which downgraded my PC specifications and used refurbish broken parts passed as new ones (serial numbers didn’t match).

  4. after that….it doesn't do anything…..
  5. I second the reply above. You paid for it pre-installed, they should help you figure it out. If I had a specific suggestion I would tell you, but it could be a lot of things.
  6. Call dell and ask to speak with the technicain who installed it.
  7. What is the problem?
  8. Thanks….
  9. Very urgent…
