What is red hat linux OS? AND ITS ADVANTAGES OVER OTHER OS?

LINUX OS

  1. Redhat Linux is a UNIX clone produced by redhat Corporation, and is currently the most popular Linux variant in the market today. It is used widely for web and database servers as well as for use in home desktops. Redhat was recognized fairly early as one of the more "user-friendly" Linux distributions, with grphical installation and configuration tools that takes much of the trauma out of dealing with a command line driven operating system away. If you intend on using it, make sure that all of your hardware is compatible, because typically a desktop system will use hardware that only works with Windows, so you may need to make changes to your hardware. In general Linux has a reputation (mostly deserved) for being stable and secure, as well as flexible (although this comes at the cost of having to learn more about your computer). The OS itself is free and there is a massive user support community. Disadvantages include the necessity of learing more in order to manage your computer, lack of software ports available in Windows and a more restricted hardware comaptibility list as compared with Windows.

  3. Ron, you are asking the same questions over and over again. Just choose some linux distro and install it, or use to a live cd.
