What is the difference b/w these files- http://download.fedora.redhat.com/p…
I want to install Fedora 4 on my winxp system. The link featured below says about 4 iso files of two variations each- http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fe…
- I "dont" need the source code. So should I go for the SRPM or the one without SRPM.
- Anything which ends with RPM is Redhat Package Manager, its used for patches and other things on Redhat Linux systems, such as a Bind DNS package and etc… SRPM is Source Redhat Package Manager, so its the source code basically, if you need the source code download this, if not, as in your case download the other one.
Take a look at UBUNTU linux as well, search on google.com for UBUNTU, its a great pilot Linux project. I prefer it.
- get the ones without SRPMS, SRPM = Source Red Hat Package Manager (the source code).
remember to backup your data before installing Fedora.
- Would be great if someone would distinguish b/w them.Plz also look at the last 2 iso files(rescuecd & sha1sum)
