Why Yahoo is not upgrading the Yahoo mesenger for Linux versions?

Please tell me why there is no upgradation of Yahoo mesengers for Linux Flavours like Red Hat Linux, Fedora Core4 etc where as there have been many upgradations for MS WindowsXP like Yahoo Mesenger with Voice etc.?

  1. I don't know for sure but I think there is a limited interest from yahoo to make messenger fully featured for linux. Since there is already programs doing that kind of stuff (ie gaim) which is probably preferred by most linux users for it's support of multiple protocols (ICQ/MSN/Yahoo/Jabber/etc). Yahoo is a business and if there is no money to be made, they won't spend the time to upgrade their messenger… also, good Linux (C/C++) programmers are kind of rare. But keep asking for it, if there is a bigger demand they might see the opportunity.
  2. I think there found another chat programs such as gaim and kopete
  3. thats not a question either
