I have installed ubuntu linux server edition 7.04 and I am kind of new to linux and dont know much but I want to learn. this linux is supposed to have a desktop right? but I cant get the desktop all I have is command lines. how do I get to the desktop or has something gone wrong to where I dont have it?

at school they have this program that doesnt let you have a desktop just a folder and you can only open those programs in that folder. is there anyway I can get rid of it and change it back to the normal desktop and by the way there are heavy restrictions
