Locked out of my laptop?

I have a Dell Latittude Laptop. It has no diskett or cd drives but does have a backpack CD drive, It is my spouses laptop and it has Novell Netware , and Symantec Corp Edition. Somehow a DLL file got deleted so Windows XP will not load. It also has Win 2000 and Win NT . We got it to load 2000 but she changed her password for windows user acct and now she is locked out of that. How can I wipe this laptop out and reformat the hard drive with only this add-on backpack drive.and nothing else.
