I'm thinking about installing (Ubuntu) Linux on my PC. But I read that most Linux programs and drivers don't have 'real' setup functions, like Windows programs do. Instead you have to unpack an tar.gz file and then do cryptic command line stuff etc. Is that true? Because if yes, I won't switch. I want it to be as simple to use as Windows. Otherwise, why the hassle?
