How do you keep ssh from timing out in linux?

I've got a job that connects to a remote server to run a task, that times out due to the length of time it takes to run. How do I keep my ssh session alive for the duration it takes to run the task. Using Redhat linux OS.

How can I establish a secure connection using SSH between a server and a router Cisco?

How to configure ssh known_hosts?

I am using OpenSSH on Red Hat Linux. How do I set up the known_hosts file in the .ssh folder so that I can log on to remote machines without typing in a password?
