1. Use Windows.
2. You would first have to download a video player called Mplayer and then also to download the dependencies that are required to run mplayer. have a look at this site, for mplayer and it will even list what dependancies you need to download for the program to work http://packman.links2linux.org/index.php… You will also have to install a package called win32codecs, as these are all the codecs required to decode the video files and dvd's
