I use suse9.3 linux and I want to install yahoo messenger in it. Can I install yahoo messenger in suse linux?

  1. yes
from the link provided by 2nd poster, pick the RedHat Package (RPm); installing it in the most recent (Open-)Suse is a little bit of a struggle, however, due to evolution of libraries & all.
in SuSE 9.3 it (still) used to run "out of the box", if memory serves well. once you installed the RPM with the SuSE / KDE package manager (KPackage, I think) you will get an icon somewhere in the K-menu (equivalent of he Win start button) (under Internet, if memory serves well); this is sort of the Windows installer which will do the actual installation.
once this is done, you are all set, even though, especially if you come from the Win world, the interface has a number of annoying difference; pretty much the same as FireFox, Netscape or Mozilla.
  2. Yes.
You'll just either have to install it via the command line yourself, or use a RPM package manager.

Or the easiest way is probably to use Gaim, which has support for the yahoo protocol, and is likely already installed.

  3. Hi there.

    From this url:

    http://messenger.yahoo.com/unix.php…

I only see Redhat, Debain, and FreeBSD supported, but not Suse tho. You can try but don't know which package to download.

    Hope this helps a bit
