Problem in booting with suse-linux 10.1?
I downloaded suse-Linux 10.1 as ISO image and burned it to a DVD but I have a problem for booting from the disk and then I re downloaded the ISO image again (3.5 GB) it wasn't easy and burned again to another DVD but the same problem is there any solution for this problem? and please note that iam trying to boot from my primary drive and iam sure that my boot settings are correct.
- could you be more specific, with " problem for booting from the disk"? if the PC doesn't boot from the DVD, then you could try something along cuite's answer (go to BIOS, make CD/DVD primary bootable device, save on exit & reboot)
if you get error messages while loading the DVD / isntalling from the DVD, then you may have a corrupt ISO; you can do a CHECKSUM of the ISO file, ere burning it, to see if it is good. - haha what you may have to do is set your bios to boot from cd . what you do is reset the pc and enter the bios now from there go to the part where it says boot up set that to boot from cd by hitting the page down key , then hit the (esc) key then hit the (f10) key to save settings ,then the pc will restart up then you will see press anykey to boot from cd just hit enter then it will boot from the linux cd you made up , hey that is a live cd , so you dont need to install the suse linux just let it run from cd dont install it or it will remove windows xp on you and then your have some big problems ,when you have done using the suse linux live cd just restart the pc then as the pc is starting up remove the linux cd and the pc will boot back up to windows xp , remember donot install suse linux what so ever or windows xp will be gone and all your drivers to the pc
